Mina Masoud was born on the seventeenth of September 1991 in Cairo, his parents are Egyptian and he has two older sisters, he immigrated with his family to Canada when he was three years old and grew up in Markham, Ontario, and Mina Masoud expressed his cultural affiliation to his native Egypt despite His early emigration to Canada where he studied at St. Brazzer Andre's Catholic High School, then moved to Ryerson University in Toronto where he studied in the art department.
Mina explained in many interviews that he is a big fan of Egyptian comedy, and that the Egyptian heritage has given him a lot of experience in his field of work in comedy, as the great Egyptian actors such as Adel Imam and Ismail Yassin rely on body language and facial expressions to make viewers laugh and reach their hearts
Mina Masoud founded the EDA charitable foundation that aims to support talented artists of different races and help them start his artistic career in Canada before moving to Los Angeles, as Mina faced a lot of difficulties in Toronto before he got the role of Aladdin, and said: "The Foundation will seek to help talented people in dance, drawing or music achieve their dream. Sometimes I did not have the financial ability to go or adequately prepare for cinematic auditions in order to get a role in a movie. I hope we can help facilitate this."
Masoud Mina began his artistic career in 2011, where he played a short role in the television series Nikita and Combat Heart, and he played the role of Jared Malik in the series Open Heart in 2015, in addition to the role of Tariq Kassar in the series Jack Ryan produced by Amazon Prime.
In 2017, it was announced that Mina Masoud would play the role of Aladdin in the Disney movie Aladdin. Mina talked about the role of Aladdin by saying that I was encouraged to get a chance to play a character who is not a terrorist and does not have any negative connotation. On the contrary, it is a positive character, as Aladdin is the inspiration for the film and a mainstay in it, in addition to the fact that the actors in the film are of different races in Hollywood, and Ritchie talked as if joking that the movie Aladdin will exceed one billion dollars in the box office, and indeed, the film exceeded one billion dollars in revenues worldwide, Massoud achieved global public fame, especially among young people, after the movie Aladdin, with American star Will Smith and Naomi Scott.
Mena Massoud published a culinary book called "Evolving Vegan" in September 2020, which consists of a selection of diverse, delicious and affordable vegetarian recipes, inspired by dishes from all over the world with a focus on North America.
Masoud also joined the new Netflix romantic comedy The Royal Treatment as Prince Thomas with American actress Laura Marano as Isabella, the film directed by Rick Jacobson.
Mina Masoud is taking part in his first role in a new Egyptian movie entitled In the Back, and the film is produced by Single Films, and it is Morcos Adel's first directing experience, and the first script written by young actor Karim Sorour.
