Hind Rostom

 Hind Rostom (November 12, 1931 - August 8, 2011), her real name is Nariman Hussein Murad, is an Egyptian actress who has presented many cinematic works, and is considered one of the most important actresses in the golden age of Egyptian cinema. She has been dubbed by critics the "Queen of Seduction" and "the Marilyn Monroe of the East".



She was born in the Muharram Bey neighborhood of Alexandria in northern Egypt, and her father was a police officer. She was born to an Egyptian-Turkish aristocratic family, from a Turkish father and an Egyptian mother. She presented more than 74 films. Her first artistic appearance was in 1947, and in 1949 she appeared in the song “Attamatkari Ya Khil” for two minutes as “compars” in the movie “Ghazal al-Banat” with Najib al-Rihani, Laila Murad and Youssef Wehbe, and then took small roles until she met With director Hassan Reda, who later married her, and she began her stardom journey in cinema, she was famous for her seductive roles in Egyptian cinema in the fifties of the twentieth century, and was known by several titles, including “Queen of Seduction” and “Marilyn Monroe of the East” for her apparent resemblance to actress Marilyn Monroe with her well-known blond hair. Her work in 1979 during the movie "My Life Is Torment", after which she decided to retire from art for good.

The late Rushdi Abaza also participated in a number of films, including, "A Struggle in the Nile, I Don't Sleep, Return My Heart, Six Girls, Men in the Storm, He and Women" and others. .

She was married twice, the first to director Hassan Reda and gave birth to her daughter "Basant" from him, but then separated from him, and married Dr. Muhammad Fayyad, and after her marriage to him, she retired from art and devote herself to taking care of him and her daughter Basant.

Hind Rostom died on August 8, 2011 at the age of 79 , after the great successes achieved by the actress Hind Rostom in the cinema and the praise of critics and the awards she received, she concluded her artistic life with the movie "My Life is Torment", which she presented in 1979 with Adel adham and Omar Hariri, after which she retired from art and entered complete isolation during which she refused to appear on any occasions. Social, artistic or public, and following the death of her husband, Dr. Muhammad Fayyad, she passed away on August 8, 2011, leaving behind a great asset and a long history of artwork.
