Career

Ismail Yassin was born on September 15, 1912 AD. He is the only son of a well-off goldsmith in Abbas Street in the city of Suez. His mother died while he was still a young child.

Ismail joined one of the schools, then continued in a primary school until the fourth grade of primary school. When his father's goldsmiths' shop went bankrupt as a result of his poor spending and then his father went to prison for accumulating debts on him, the boy was forced to work in front of a textile shop, as he had to take responsibility for himself since his childhood. Then he had to leave the house for fear of his stepmother's tyranny to work as a caller for cars in one of the parking lots in Suez.

Ismail Yassin loved the songs of the musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab and repeated them since his early childhood, and dreamed of being a competing singer.

When he was 17 years old, he moved to Cairo in the early thirties, where he worked as a boy in a café on Muhammad Ali Street and lived in popular small hotels. Then he joined the Osta "Nussa", who was the most famous folk wedding dancer at the time. And because he did not find enough money, he left her to work as an agent in a lawyer's office to search for a living first.

Then he thought again about achieving his artistic dream, so he went to Badia Masabni, after he was discovered by his artistic twin, friend of his life and partner of his artistic struggle, the great comic author Abu Al-Saud Al-Ibiari, with whom he formed a famous artistic duo and was a partner in Badia Masabni nightclub and then in cinema and theater. He was nominated by Badia Massabni to appoint him to her band and actually joined her band to deliver monologues at Badia Massabni's nightclub.

Ismail Yassin was able to succeed in the art of monologue, and he remained brilliant for ten years from 1935-1945 in this field until he received the monologue on the radio for four pounds for one monologue, including the writing and composition fee, which was always composed by his artistic twin, Abu Al-Saud Al-Ibiari.

In 1939, he was beginning to enter the cinema, when Fouad Al-Jazairly chose him to participate in the movie (Khalaf Al-Habayeb). He made several films in which he played the second role, the most famous of which were (Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves), (Noureddine and the Three Sailors) and (The Heart has One). Ismail Yassin presented more than 166 films in his life.

Yassin was able to be a box office star that fans flock to, and the years 52, 53 and 54 were his golden age, as he represented 16 films in one year, a number that no other artist could achieve.

Although Ismail Yassin did not enjoy the handsomeness and beauty, which are the usual qualities in the net stars at the time, he was able to attract the masses when he was mocking his form and his mouth grew large in most of his works. Thus, he was able to jump to the first ranks and reserve a prominent place, which prompted the producers to contract with him on new films, to become the only hero whose films are associated with his name until he reached the top.

In 1954, he contributed to formulating the history of the Egyptian comedy theater and formed a band bearing his name in partnership with his artistic twin and artistic career partner, the great author Abu Al-Saud Al-Ibiari. Abu Al-Saud Al-Ebiary.

It is noteworthy that 30% of the films presented by the comedian star were behind the director Fateen Abdel Wahab, and most of them bore the name Ismail Yassin, as films were produced for him in his name after Laila Murad, and among these films, Ismail Yassin in the Wax Museum - Ismail Yassin meets Raya and Sakina - Ismail Yassin in the army - Ismail Yassin in the police - Ismail Yassin in aviation - Ismail Yassin in the navy - Ismail Yassin in the hospital for the lunatics - Ismail Yassin Tarzan - Ismail Yassin for sale, most of which were written by Abu Al-Saud Al-Abyari.

In these films, the actor Riad Al-Qasabji, famous as Al-Shawish Attia, followed him, as their scenes were - and still are until now - an important station in the history of comedy, which the audience enjoys so far because of the strange paradoxes, natural situations and pranks they plot for each other, as Abdel Salam participated in some of these films.
